Fundraising Events
The AVPO is committed to having two major fundraisers per year that will involve the participation of the entire school. These could be an auction, book drive, etc. There may also be smaller optional fundraisers conducted throughout the year, however, no family should ever feel pressured by these. It is also school policy that we will never authorize a fundraiser that uses our children as sales people.
Our AVPO At-Large Fundraising Chair, Debbie Carwitz, receives all parent and committee requests for AVPO fundraising initiatives. She presents them on your behalf to the Executive Board for authorization and scheduling on the AVPO calendar; with final approval reserved to the Headmaster.
How do I submit a request for a fundraising event?
If you have any wonderful ideas for a fundraising event, and we hope that you do, please fill out the request form which will automatically be submitted to Debbie Carwitz. She will present your request at the next AVPO Executive Board meeting.
After the event is approved by the Executive Board, it will go to the General Membership for approval. Please be prepared to pitch your event at that meeting.
Once the green light is given, the At Large Fundraising Chair will work in close partnership with you, and the Homeroom and Volunteer Chairs to schedule and solicit the volunteers needed to support the event.
The parent volunteer who is in charge of the particular Fundraising Event will keep the At-Large Fundraising Chair and Executive Board Treasurer informed of all details and activities of their Event Committee on a regular basis.
